Not totally a survivor, but this Japanese Raleigh came to me today. Aside from the bar tape, pedals, possibly the saddle and the poorly fitting Shimano brake hoods, I think it is fairly original. A catalog or advertisement page I found online only described the saddles for these being plastic shell and aero. This is a plastic shelled Iscaselle Tornado with some OK but not great synthetic leather. The
MKS Esquartz I think it came with were replaced with some Shimano SPDs which aren't awful but I will replace them with something with toe clips and straps. The hoods, while in good condition are clearly not original. I think it is an '84, but the next stop is T-mar's Asian Serial Number thread for a better idea.
The paint and decals are good enough I don't want to do anything to make them better. The chrome I'm in love with and will polish up nicely.
