First I started with Drano, no luck. Then I cut it off and had planned to cut it out and discovered just how thick the side walls are...

"Drano" is Lye, sodium hydroxide.

As you have already started down that path,
And destroyed the seat post,
Give the seat tube a thorough bath.

Lye will wash your troubles away, given time.
