Mitchell, Grandfather MTN, etc.) where I feel like disc brakes would be great during the 1-mile + descents, but my time out there is relatively infrequent.
Yea - I agree. I don't do the purchasing I did when my kid was racing more, but for many purposes, I'd buy rim brakes - still. We have both, mostly rim brakes, mostly light.
