That is interesting. I never knew that before. That said, the sticker does not indicate that the bike was built in the USA, only that it was tested in the USA. With that in mind, does a bike have to be built in the USA to get the sticker. Also, the OP suggests the bike to be Italian. Is it possible that it was built in Italy, imported into the USA and then subjected to USA standards through the BMA/6 standard?
We, in Canada, have a similar situation with Miele bikes. Some were, indeed, Italian masterpieces. But most were made in Italy and assembled in Canada to avoid high tariff fees.
Anyway, not trying to be argumentative. Just trying to learn something new. Thanks.
