If the anodizing/coating on the stanchions is not shredded just get it rebuilt. Figure $120-$150 for a shop/suspension shop to do it

Or you can do it yourself but it's not really any cheaper if you need to buy all the tools & lube to do it. But it will be much cheaper the 2nd time.

I've rebuilt a handful of the old Fox F32's & F100's over the last year, I prefer the green SKF seals... they are SMOOTH!
