Well happy belated birthday Dean! I like to ride my age on my birthday but had decided at some point (likely well before 70) I would either do that in km or 100-age miles.

I just spent a week in Southern California with the only bike riding a beach cruise along the Manhattan Beach strand. Luckily, the SoCal weather followed us home to Virginia and it’s been warm, dry and sunny. Today was maiden voyage for my early 80’s Merckx Pro which, interestingly, of the 3 I have owned, is the first one with Columbus tubing. Rode around town today as the legs were tweaked from a hard ride in the hills yesterday. Almost 5000 feet of climbing over the two days.

Happy Fathers Day and Juneteenth everyone!

Just down the hill from my usual photo stop at McCormick Observatory. Fresh pavement turned the angst filled pothole descent to a yee haw! moment.

UVA Memorial to Enslaved Laborers that built the first portions of the University.

The Merckx Double. Rode the Century yesterday.
