Looks like I was getting ahead of myself a bit. Fit wise, having it at the top of the existing steerer seems to be most comfortable for my reach at the moment. If I ever do decide to take it down I'd probably need to shorten to a 70mm stem, from my 80mm.
But for now, I'm gonna ride it for a few months and see how it really feels. If I decide to take a little more aggressive, I will.
