Not really nuts I have run all the tires on bikes slightly over pressure for years to carry the load of me 200lb give or take and the 20lb load pack cargo . As for the pump put some heavy weight oil in it and it it should start working fine these old stand up style pumps were made to use 90 weight half don't work because they were never oiled, which was considered dealer user set up.
