Bought this great bike around 1991 (the year it was built according to serial nos) It was full Dura Ace 7400 I believe, sis 8.
Wanted shifters on the bars so moved to Ultegra 6700 =10 spd in 2007.
I'm considering riding an event down PCH from San Francisco to LA next year, but as I am older and not as strong, considering changing gearing. I'd love to put a triple chainring on but not sure it can be accomodated. Failing that, I'd like advice on chainring / cassette mods that will help. Current setup is Ultegra 53/39 with cassette 11/28. Probably need a long cage derailleur with changes, (if available)
But I have seen triple Dura ace or Ultegra setups available online and question if I might go that route.
Thoughts and advice is welcomed.
