There isn't much difference at such low-end components, though some prefer one over the other. Manitou forks seems to be better constructed than RS though again it comes down to personal preference.
I would see if the LBS can go a little lower for the 05 model. After all, they should be on clearance.
I like the colors for the 06 model better.
