The landlord has raised rent too high for any LBS to afford so it's an "eviction by figleaf".
I'm sure this block will be another highrise development as soon as the contractors wrap up their current one, just up/down the road.
The Missing Link had been in business for 49 years, but anonymous "market forces" have decided "that's enough you had a good run, nobody in this College town rides bicycles anymore..."
