It's a tough call. If you had to choose, since you are NOT racing, I would go with aluminum. I split the difference and ride Crabon wheels May-September and aluminum October-April. The handbuilt aluminum ones I got from Psimet2001 are really good BTW so you may want to check with him on pricing.
