I do not crash any harder in the dark hours then during the day but when it is dark out I usually get to chase at least one coyote. That gets fun when they run stright down the trail a few hundred yards Almost caught one once.

Hardcore for sure! Have you ever seen anyone else on the trails at that hour?
I do not function well with anything over 7hrs of sleep at once. Been that way all my life. Bed time is 19:00 and I get a 1 to 2 hour nap with my children during the day.

I see a few other people, mostly the same folk. One of my rides goes through cattle country and I see the ranch hands out there. As far as cyclists though, never. Other then the one time a friend of mine decided to give it a try that early. It was a funny because he showed up with his buzz from the night before still lingering. He did end up tossin' his diner though.
