Putting in some dedicated, slow moving practice time may help.
I was pretty wobbly starting out, had a hard time with my heels hitting the front wheel during turns, (Short wheelbase bent) balance difficulties, etc.

After a few afternoons of stop, go, and go real slow practice, I gained a fair amount of confidence.

Might be easier than fitting outriggers to your bike.
