I am 6'1" and 225 pounds. I do feel some front-to-back flex in the fork when I brake hard, but so far it has not been a problem. In fact, the flex in the fork helps the bike to feel stable during very hard and sudden braking. Except for the braking, the fork has so far felt very solid. This is my first carbon fork with all my previous forks being steel, so I don't have a lot of experience to compare, but I am very happy with the carbon fork.

IMHO, I can't see how the carbon fork could be so bad that it would offset the advantages of the disc brakes. Plus, I feel a lot more flex in the wheels than from the fork, so if flex was a problem, I wouldn't be looking at the fork as the culprit.
