i live in mesa(not in that area,its like the ghetto down there) and went to reed a few years back. I actually saw a guy get arrested because his 10 year old son was riding his bike there. i has heard of these kinda protests, but didnt realize they became so widespread.
On a side note: i live in northeast mesa(if ya know me) and that video was shot in the summer, when its 100 degrees at night and 118 degrees in the day
