I sold my FS and got a HT two years ago. After 4 seasons riding FS, I lost all skill. I didn't pick lines, I didn't have to work to get over crap on the trail, etc. The first season back on a HT was humbling. I had to work hard to maintain traction, I had to actually think about where I was pointing the bike - it was so much more fun! It sounds weird, but I got more connected to the ride than on FS. I don't think I'll go back to FS anytime soon. If I ever break my current frame, I'll get something custom done in Ti or Carbon. In fact, I'm going to see if I can ride my usual trails on a rigid single-speed.
