That's a cool story! I have one somewhat similar.
One time I was riding very hard to catch up with a car that was stopped @ the next light. This car had just brushed really close to me @ speed, and I wanted to @ least give him a piece of my mind. Well, as it turned out, I couldn't catch him before the light changed, and he got away. When I slowed down for the light, another car came by, and said something like "Hey, you were doing 35 mph - awesome!".
I about fell off the bike! First off, I didn't know that I could go that fast on the flats. Secondly, I was shocked that someone took notice and actually liked it!
I smiled the rest of the ride home.
