Disadvantages: Cost? But you can get flip-flops for pretty cheap. And having a fixed-fixed hub is no limitation, you can thread a freewheel on the fixed side of a hub no problem.

I am an old guy 54, scoring with chicks would defiantly be a cool factor but the wife would get pretty pizzed.
