New Fixie Convert

Just paid for my first fixie bike today. Got me a Jamis Sputnik. Havent done any serious riding in a while, but I figure some training for a year or so on a fixie cant do anything but help.

Geez, and this cult following is kinda scary. I live in a college town and I've never seen anyone actually riding fixed gear bikes. Thank god I dont live in one of those bigger cities. Is really as bad as it seems? It sounds annoying as fashion subculture genres (no offense intended to anyone).

Anywho, anyone have any non obvious tips about riding them? I'm no idiot, because I used to ride about 3 hours every day a good 5 years ago, but thats been a while.. I wanted something to beef up my technique a bit, and Sputnik was too sexy to not get one.

Thanks.
