About blisters from trials riding - I found two things that caused lots of blisters for me: too much padding in my gloves, and thin grips.

I don't really know why padded gloves don't work too well, but all the trials riders I ride with prefer thinner gloves (hebo's being the best, seconded by unpadded work gloves from home depot or mechanix)

About the grips - my hand just didn't fit right on them, I needed something thicker. ODI ruffian = perfect.
