The commercial does a good job of portraying bike racing with the same drama and emotional weight typically given to other sports in the US and elsewhere.

One can argue whether professional sport in general is deserving of such treatment, but I don't think this USPS commercial goes any farther than a thousand other football and baseball and tennis commercials do.

For good or ill, sport is a way of life for a lot of people, and not just those who are paid for it.

And on an objective level, I think a case could be made that cycle racing is more difficult and risky, and takes place under more demanding conditions, than many other sports that people tend to think of as "physical." The commercial makes that point quite well.

I also think the spot is well and artistically done. And it's about time the USPS put some money into promoting their team in the US.
