On my way home last night I was actually passed by the most impressive BMXer I have ever seen. I rolled up to him at a stop light and we both headed out for the next mile at the same time. I was cruising about 22 mph for the first half mile or so but tired somewhat in the stiff headwind and slowed to about 19 mph in the drops for the remainder of the mile. Just as I approached the light, BMX boy blows past me standing full up like a wind sail in the head wind and killing himself to maintain the speed. IMPRESSIVE!!
Aren't most BMX bikes geared at about 40 gear inches or so? I can't believe he maintained that cadence standing up in the wind.
Needless to say, he did not have it in him to keep up for the next mile.
