I've never used a Solos headset, but that's because my current Cane Creek headsets haven't given me any reason to spend the 'ching. I've got an S-3, an S-6 and an S-8 on my bikes, and am happy with all three. Can't imagine why a Solos wouldn't be as good. Go for it.
