That sounds about right. Of course from looking at the other posts I would say it depends on where you live. When I worked in San Diego all the messengers worked on an hourly basis. I was making good money there. When I moved to New York I was introduced to the percentage system. I actually started at 47% but worked my up to 51% after a few months. I was making more than in San Diego but NYC is a harder city to messenger in.
