Not to flaunt my status as a garage owner, but (well, ok I'm flaunting..) I did keep the bikes in the living room & basement until I purchased my house last year. Now I have a 30x30 foot insulated and finished garage to spend my winters in. Room enough for the car, the project car, and all of my bike crap (and then some).
The wife uses the attached 1 1/2 car garage, so this is my personal hideout in the winter.
