Smiths Machines can be great for squats, especially if you are using a forward stance. I think it is good to use both smiths and free.
smith machine is not a natural motion, therefore can easily lead to injury...not a great to start the season
one thing to remeber is that when lifting for sports, you use your muscles in combinations not isolations and should do natural movenments not natulis or smith machine stuff...
