Thanks for the link. I tiried toporoute.com but it was much more finicky. Just to give you a comparison, I mapped a 50 mile out and back on Skyline Drive, starting at the entrance to Shannendoah National Park. I am also posting the actual elevation profile from My Polar 725i HRM, which records ascent as well. T
They are both pretty dead on. Routeslip gives a total ascent of 6202 and my HRM gives me a total ascent of 6040. Not sure which one is more accurate but I will say the barometric pressure that day was normal and the HRM was giving me the same readings as the posted elevations I was reading on the signs alongthe way. They are close enough to each other for my liking...200 ft. variance not a big deal to me. The big gap in the middle of my hrm profile was obviously where I hung out and ate some lunch.
