Idaho?
Wouldn't Idaho be more of a mountain state than a PacNW? Geography wise, it's like 400 miles from the pacific, contains a big chunk of rockies, and it has mountain state weather. It's in the mountain timezone and the people are much similer to those in the other mountain states than to the people on the coast.
Just a thought.
