Want to join a race team?

Native Planet Outdoor Club is seeking people interested in racing. Yes the racing season has just ended, but that just means that the time to start training for next year has arrived.

Native Planet Outdoor Club was founded in March of 2006 to raise awareness and needed funds for Native Planet, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the protection, preservation and promotion of indigenous cultures worldwide. On June 11th we held our first fundraiser, the Native Planet Classic, and experienced a great success. The Native Planet Classic is a ride with three optional routes that starts in Winthrop and goes over the North Cascades Hwy to Diablo Lake and back to Winthrop for people who want the challenge of climbing 10,000 ft of elevation over a 126 mile super century. The shorter routes include a 63 mile metric century from Winthrop to the summit of scenic Washington Pass and back to Winthrop, or a very moderate 28 mile ride from Winthrop to Mazama and back to Winthrop. The next Native Planet Classic will be held on June 23rd, 2007 and we would love to see you there.

As for racing, we are seeking riders of all levels interested in road, track, mountain or cyclocross racing. Currently we have 9 people dedicated to track racing at the velodrome in Marymoor Park next year. We have 2 people dedicated to road racing and need more. There has been discussion of cyclocross and mountain bike racing and we would love to add these elements to our racing program. We have two “meet the team” rides this coming weekend and two more in October, where you can come and meet some of our team riders and explore the opportunities (http://www.ride4areason.org/cycling/...he_team.shtml).

Come on out and ride with us and discover the exhilaration of racing with a team.

If you can’t make it to our meet the team ride but are still interested in joining our team please feel free to email me with any questions or just to express your interest.
