I'm seeing a lot of deer here in OH, too. Very unpredictable. They seem to herd together, so if you see one, plan for more. Often, in my experience, the scariest is when one is on the side of the path/road, and 6 more bolt out as you approach to catch up with the other one. That makes for an interesting "oh carp!" moment.
My wife saw a buck with a big rack the other day on a bike path. They are certainly prettier than the Moose we saw so much of in Idaho a few weeks ago. Smell better, too. LOL
