It's cheaper to buy a finished one. The bulb makers won't let you get a deal on one bulb or ballast. They know they will be undercutting the light makers prices. You can buy a finished light for $185 from
batteryspace.com. Last time I looked, the best you could do from the bulb and ballast makers was an experimenters kit with two bulbs a ballast and some other stuff for $500.
