I am buying a Cannondale Six13, should I upgrade the crankset to Shimano R700?

I am getting the Team 2 (Ultegra) version. Full specs here: http://www.cannondale.com/bikes/07/c...el-7RCT2D.html

The standard crank is: TruVatiV Rouleur 2.2, 39/53, OPTIONAL TruVatiV Rouleur C2.2 Compact, 34/50. I definitely want the compact (for Bay Area hills), but should I request the R700 Shimano compact, which seems to be Ultegra-level and is getting awesome reviews? It seems like the Shimano would just work better, provide cleaner shifting, longer life, etc. How much is the difference in list prices? Looks to me like it should only be about $50 extra. Or should I just ride the TruVatiV (maybe it's lighter anyway) and not worry about it...

I also don't like the drop into the drop bars (it feels too far) whereas I loved the feel of Specialized's drop bars on the Tarmac I rode, so the shop is going to swap the Specialized bar on the bike for me. Otherwise the bike should be good to go!

Thanks in advance for any advice.
