No this was more a marketing thing. The Penny Farthing is the old old bike with the giant front wheel and the tiny back wheel. There was a bike shop somewhere between Freeport and Massapeakua that had one of them out front. I'm pretty sure it was a Schwinn Shop. (We're going back ~30 years.)
