This derailer is the idler to keep my front long chain tight. So without it I couldn't pedal at all. The LaBent by LaDue uses two separate chains. One double-length from front to rear and a normal one to the back wheel. They're both on a double chainring under my seat. I suppose I should've tried putting the chain on the largest chainring up front to take up some of the slack.
