When I rented a bike on my vaction in December, I took my minitool and pedals. Since my pedals are set up for me, it made sense. I needed the minitool to remove and install the pedals (6mm hex in the back of the spindles) That is addtional to my normal riding gear. Plus, the shop I rented the bike from did a full on the trainer fitting with the bike I rented, a Trek 1500 with Tiagra.
