Well, sometimes you do what you gotta do. I take it some of you have never had to do rocky stream crossings while mountain biking? Sure the water can play havoc on your bearings but that's why you remember to relube. I end up doing almost a complete tear-down and relube after such rides. We get it pretty wet and muddy up here in the PNW during the winters and sometimes you end up slogging through stuff that's just as deep as in the above picture but it's slushy mud instead of water.
