My girlfriends little brother is 15 and has been riding with me for about a year. I handed down my 80's 30lb schwinn to him but he has A) outgrown it and B) decided he needs something better. Money is an issue, a big one in fact. Our local bike is giving us an amazing deal on any 07 Jamis. We were looking at the aluminum line up, roads here aren't bumpy, and the Jamis Ventura Elite has a mix of 105 w/ Ultegra 10spd with a compact and we'll be able to get it for the price of a Trek 1000.
The other question at hand is that he is 15 and growing. Should he get a size too big, we aren't going to have money to buy a new bike every two years.
