I recently did something similar, building up a NOS 1980s 24h Record front hub but a new 28h Record rear hub (for my 9 speed) with Aerohead rims. Came out to a nice and light 1490g wheelset. Too bad the front rim collapsed, but the factory determined it was a defect and is rebuilding the wheels for me.
Dang it, I'm hearing far too many problems with the Aerohead rims lately and I"m planning on building a set up with H1 hubs in the spring. *grumble*
P.S. - with the 1.2, you should be alright with a 24 count.
