Leaving a team
Is it frowned upon to leave a team mid season to join another? I have an offer from a team, but I'd have to leave the current team I am on but not happy with this current team.

Meh unless you own them something say you got a free frame to race this season, I think it's all good. Just explain the situation. If they don't take it well, then **** em.

Unless you signed an agreement and contending for something as a team I don't see why it is a big deal. If it bothers you discuss it why you want to beforehand with them

It depends. How do you define "team"? How do you define "leave"?

Just depends what kind of commitment the team has made for you....is it a team that you pay a membership or for kits, or do they supply them with other benefits? The former there is no obligation, the latter, depends.

The only frowning that will be done will be by your old team.
I did it last year, never looked back. Still on speaking terms with old team, no biggie.
If you were taking a free frame with you that'd be something else, of course.. in that case you should probably give it back.

It's a team, more like a club that I paid to join and paid for discounted kits. The current team has no other cat 5 racers or sets up group rides with newer members. The team that has offered me a position is an actual race team with several cat 5 racers and they actually do team rides. The current team has said if you want to leave just let somebody know and it's done
