Training Status??? (IV)

5th day off and feel scared I'm gonna lose all the fitness. After tearing the rear end of my bike apart on Saturday, had no time to ride - wedding, reception, hotel, birthday brunch for friend, Game of Thrones. Could have done some riding this morning but was beat from the weekend. I'm thinking 4 hour coastal commute therapy in the morning.

Still, doing normal weekend sh!+ with normal people felt kinda amazing. Damn weekends are long when they aren't 75% filled with racing/riding stuff.

I have a power meter again! Sold my Quarq weeks ago and just got a stages. To be honest I didn't miss it. I rarely look at it on group rides anyways but today I realized I forgot to put power back on my Garmin screen.

weird training week this week because of a race on friday, meaning only one day of training (i try to stick pretty religiously to an easy day two days out from a race and openers the day before).
monday was an easy recovery spin. yesterday i did 6*5' hill repeats in the morning then went out again in the evening for 6*1' intervals for a total of about 4:15 on the bike. my threshold numbers are decent but i have so so much work to do in the 0-2' range. easy today, openers tomorrow, racing friday night.

2-2.5ish hours of turning the screws on myself, followed up with a group ride. The only instructions are that I'm not supposed to be totally empty by the end.
Experimenting with rest before races and front loading training weeks. The general protocol is that I do a 225-250tss workout 3 days before a race, follow it up with an easy day, then openers. It might be a smidge too much so close to a race though, so we're trying pushing the workout to 4 days before and doing 2 easier days followed by openers.

2:40 yesterday, just z2/z3, totally mediocre, hopefully will get to do a couple of more similar length rides tomorrow and Friday and maybe get my CTL above 50 lol

Resumed training efforts yesterday. Had assigned 4x15' low Z4. Didn't want to crush myself too badly, so I did 3x15'. Wasn't too strugglebus-y, but it wasn't easy, either. Glad I didn't push it cause we went to a Sox game last night, were out late and I am REKT today. So sleepy. Going to try some 5' intervals this afternoon.

I had 2x 7hr weeks in a row - coming from 0 training. My legs are tired, but my main goal is losing weight, so I am trying to keep up the calorie expenditure. Once I'm down another ~10 lb, I'll worry about real training.

That's it, I'm getting a garmin. I gave up a KOM that I should've snagged by 20 seconds, because I stopped to wait for everyone else like 10 feet before the end of the segment. Strava KOMs are serious damn business.

Kinda in a weird spot. Had planned on this being a rest week, but I didn't feel tired so I decided to push through until T/W of next week after track.
This morning:
1x4' 120%
1x20' 100%
1x4' 120%
1x3' 130%
Nailed it all except the last one, which I kind of put to my self as a consolation/if I felt like it, mainly because it involves leaving Fiesta Island, and riding up Linda Vista road with luck at 1 stoplight, which I didn't get. Was feeling good up until the stoplight tho.

Due to being off the bike for 3 weeks in March, TSB has been negative (fatigue) every single day for 30 days. And CTL (fitness) is pretty much where it was 3 weeks ago.
I understand how math works and stuff, but jeez.

Currently in 2/3 mode, evidently. Did 2/3 of assigned 5' intervals yesterday. Still paranoid about falling back down the fatigue hole. Still pretty tired, so it's probably not a bad idea to be careful, but eh. 3x30s today. Maybe I'll actually do all of them. At this rate, KSR is going to be an expensive training camp for the June road races, but I guess I just won't worry about it and see what happens.
