A three way photo finish tie might be hard to pull off. Otherwise I see no flaws in your plan.

My TSS is almost always wonky. I 20 min test like garbage (~340 watts?) but can kill a 20 to 60 min NP session (420 for 20 and about 400 for 60). So, I can get 100+ TSS hours if I'm focused on anaerobic stuff. The system works for me when I do regular workouts or rides though.

Oh and we'll have to ride side by side the entire time too, to make the comparison accurate.

70 mile coastal ride with 4x20 @88-95% this morning.

Same as last wednesday, except last time it hurt so bad I lowered the power a few percent this time.

Went for "grimace of pain threshold" today for the first 2, which turned out to be 95% and 93%. The last 2 required some grimacing.

3 stages, yes?

how long is the TT....25'?

40, 45' crit?

60, 65 CTL isn't going to be a handicap, esp if you race smart (as i know you can!).

i'd take a fresh 60 over a fatigued 65 any day. hell, a fresh <whatever> is probably better than a fatigued anything going into a stage race.

An interesting workout on the Kickr this morning;
10 min warm up
Reverse pyramid (1 min @ 150%, 1 min @ 50%, 2 min @ 125%, 2 min @ 50%, 3 min @ 110%, 3 min 50%, 2 at 125%, 2 at 59%, 1 @ 150%, 1 at 50%).
5 min Z2
10 min ramp from 45% to 75%
15 min @ 85%
5x1' @ 110%
5' @ 55%
15' @ 85%
5x1' @ 110%
5' @ 55%

TSS of 129, but the most interesting part of this morning is my Pw:Hr is 0.70%. Not sure what that means.

even if you were just going by feel, how did you manage to eff up training for that long?

to be fair, i'm just being a headcase. i think i'm lighter than I was in april and i'm comparing training numbers at the end of a block to numbers from racing fresh. I'm glad to have a powermeter now though to keep myself honest. definitely need to get better at using it effectively, though.

last week of training before targeted crit.. set a new 20 minute record up a climb yesterday(292w), came into it at high tempo and just kept adding a little more throttle as I got closer to the top.. could have easily averaged over 300w. Going to get some sprints in today and a few hard group rides this weekend, then start taper.

2x 14 min blocks of overunders yesterday, targeting 1 min @ 300w, 1 min @ 340w. Did it on a crit loop and it was really windy, so hard to dial in the power.

60 min spin + easy commute today, fast group ride tomorrow, gonna go hard for the sprint points

an hour around the house. Hit 40 mph on the descent from the house, and 38 going through town. The speed limit is 25 in town, might have a good opportunity to finally get a speeding ticket on my bike like I've always wanted.

If I pedaled instead of coasting it's steep enough there to hit 50 probably. There is a traffic light though, so I dunno.

I made sure to compare notes with the others on the ride ... we were all about the same. I hoped that would be sufficient
