5 year anniversary today and the wife and I rented a tandem and rode for 2 hours in the hills. Her first time on a bike in 15 years!

100 more hours this year, mostly due to taking several long trips in 2015.

Im about to go do a 8.8 mile time trial (without power!!) on a mountain bike on the towpath here along the river.
Not having power will suck, and I will have to figure out how to pace this one...but its a TT so eff it.
Also, its a TT on the first of the year so it will suck more than a TT normally would.

4x5 vo2max intervals. No other kind of interval has the ability to make me want to hang up the bike and quit racing like these do. Mid way through the last one I always start questioning if its all worth it. I guess means they're working.

Century with two other team mates - went harder than I expected/wanted to. 8k of elevation gain too, ugh.
Saw a coyote, icicles on trees, and a bull that almost ran me over!
Also, I suck at rest weeks apparently. This was supposed to be one, but ended up with 16 hours, 660 TSS. Oops.

Headed out to the east bay to ride with our lone coastal teammate. Riding out there kind of blows. So much traffic.
15 hours, 280 miles, 875 TSS for the week.

VO2 is my favorite zone. But yeah, a set of them can be really hard especially when not fully recovered. But when recovered, after rest week or two, they can really feel great. Until they dont.

Was gonna do a couple hours zone 2, but was still too tired from yesterday so did a couple hours easy instead. Tomorrow will be at least 4 hours, with threshold if the legs are ready.

2hrs on zwift after a week visiting in-laws and subsisting on a few sessions on gym bikes. high z2/low z3 (~200 for first half, tailed off 2nd half), 8.8% decoupling after seeing under 5% before xmas.

3hr solo base miles ride. Pw:Hr ratio of 0.12% for the first 2hrs40min, and 0.64% overall. So...looks like I'm responding well to the volume.

4 hrs today of solo z2 cruising after 675 TSS last week on what I suspect is a slight overestimate of my current FTP. I'm pooped. Somehow it was only 165 TSS today, certainly didn't feel like it. Luckily going out of town for 3 days before getting back to it.

4.5 hours with a lot of sweet spot. 250 TSS
First half hour I wasn't sure I'd be recovered enough, but managed to put in the power with just the right amount of struggle. May make this my rest week.

1st ride back, 30 minute trainer session. The biggest issue is my left arm, it still hurts to use it, so I couldn't keep it on the bar for too long.
Lung is getting stronger, I can breathe at about 80% pain free; any action that pressurizes it make it feel like I'm being stabbed.

1st ride back after a very lazy rest week: 2.5 hrs with 3x15' sweet spot, z2 in between. My legs felt like they were in hibernation mode until the last effort.
Tomorrow I'm going to perform a FTP test. Uh oh...

90mins today 70TSS after 120mins and 100TSS yesterday (and probably higher, since this is based on a 265 ftp and that is most definitely not my ftp at the moment), stuck with z2, as the z2/z3 effort yesterday left me with some residual heaviness.
