Great and congrats!

45 mins on a zwift race @ 98%, managed 103% over 20mins and 100% for 30min. CTL is 35, but it's kind of moot at the moment

After such a terrible time in my workout yesterday, and getting a good night's sleep last night my wokrout went great today. I ignored the drop in FTP my test said I should have and stuck to the old number for 6x~7minutes @FTP for a 90 minute ride. I felt great at the end of it. Like one of hte best workouts I've had this year.

So odd how the body can flip from feeling like complete **** (and making me question why I even do the sport) to feeling great in one day. Racing this weekend should be fun. Weather doesn't look too bad down in Eugene and we just got our housing sorted out as a team so I should be all set for a good weekend!

First ride back in CA, felt awesome! Warm out, great roads.

Best 5' ever (361w, 5.2 w/kg), so that was also nice.

another 2 hours on the rollers. 2*45' tempo with bursts every 30". didn't feel as fresh as last week, but PR'd in terms of AP and NP so i'll take it.

Yesterday was very hard. My coach is working me up to ~45min of vo2 within 1.5-2hrs of ride time, yesterday was 36 broken into 2x5 2x4 and 6x3 in 1:57, spinning around 140-180 between. I'm supposed to be doing them on flat to rolling terrain and focusing on cadence but after the first 4-5 intervals it is extraordinarily hard to do. An entirely unpleasant and not fun workout. Yay bikes?

Yikes, hopefully today is recovery!
I do 20-30 minutes typically. Did 5x8 VO2 once a few months ago, after end of season and moving recovery weeks. It's pretty fun when TSB is like plus 30 lol

another 2*20' set, another PR. second one was rough but it would have been a PR before last weekend so I'll take it.

Was supposed to do 4x12 starting and ending each interval with 1min @ 122% and the middle 10min @ 92% but it is legit terrifying outside. Trying to cross the bridge to less trafficked roads resulted in dodging ice while being blasted with rock salt wind, and riding on this side of the river resulted in nearly being run over half a dozen times during my first interval. Live to fight another day! Will be doing these guys tomorrow instead.

I think I mentioned I changed my fit last Monday.

Anyway, it seems that my old fit basically took my quads out of the equation. I was very low and very far back. The new fit is much more "neutral" with my knee much closer to being over the pedal.

With this new fit, I am definitely using my quads, and I guess they atrophied some the last few years, because I feel like I've been hit by a truck today. I did a not-out-of-the-ordinary 3-hour ride yesterday, and it has left me absolutely spent. My legs ache like they haven't ached in years.

Went to the mountains for a 5 hour and 15 minute, 358 TSS-filled leg-extravaganza. Finally cracked the oh-so-ridiculously-elusive 5 w/kg for 20 minutes barrier.

And now my legs weep.

Training status lately has been ****. Blood sugar has been running high and its starting hurt my riding I think. Going to get into the doctors (hopefully this week) to try to figure something out.

Took it easy yesterday, short ride, no racing, early night in, enough sleep, 1.5 hour drive this morning to flat an hour into the race. And the wind was just picking up and making things fun!

I'm not gonna have motivation to ride again today so I guess I'll just stuff more miles into next week.

Let me be the first to congratulate you.

Hilly 5 hour base ride in 15-20 F with every flag I saw fully extended. Finished the last hour with increasingly stronger flurries dumping snow that instantly turned unrideably slick the second a car rode over it. Total of 15 hours for the week. Double the last few weeks. Felt good to see I had that ride in me. Otherwise prospects of doing the first few races on the calendar were grim.

Weather report called for snow and super low temps on Sunday, so I rented two movies with plans to ride the rollers.

Woke up Sunday, and the forecast was correct, so I did 3 hours in the garage.

Went out in the early afternoon to bring out the garbage cans and it was sunny and mid-50s. Would have been a nice afternoon for a long ride.
