Down to 153 lbs, and over 4 w/kg for my ftp. That's 35 lbs since October, and I'm hoping to bottom out at 145 (65 kg). After that I'll have to hit the gym; I should do that now but its almost impossible for me to maintain a calorie deficit when lifting weights.

I guess this means I have to turn in my card for Team Thicc Bois
awesome man, nice to see things working out after a tough period of time!

2hrs for me today, I'm actually doing the same trainerroad build plan again rather than go into a specialty plan, just feel like I could have done better quality build with a lower ftp (plus I may want to actually specialize in cx this year). So I'm using 275 as my target. Today had 5x8mins at 102% (280w), which was tough but doable, followed by z2 at 65%

1.5 hrs. 3 sets 3x2.5mins @120% then 25mins of 65% cruising . It was, um, uncomfortable towards the end.

Zwift race instead of 30/30 type workout. Weather is going to be pretty bad the next two days then clear out for a beautiful weekend of racing.

Real easy ride today. 30 minutes and I used it as an opportunity do a non-scientific test of my power meters. Had the kickr set to 200W and recorded 2 sets of 10 mionutes on my roadbike p2m and my tt bike p2m. road bike came back at 188, TT bike came back at 197.

Not enough data to really draw conclusions, but good to know.

missed out on racing action today and the one I signed up for tomorrow was cancelled due to cold/possible snow, so over-unders today, 9 min sets with 1min @ 95% and 2 @ 105% was tough but doable, unlike some over-unders I did about a month back where maybe I was overreaching a bit.

did you calibrate slope for each? what did that reveal?

is one correct, two correct, or none?

I was under the impression I couldn't calibrate the slope on a power2max. I zeroed both of them, of course.

Today's ride was just easy 1.5 hrs on the mtb. The dirt is absolutely awesome right now since we got some rain this week and it's all dried up. Fast, grippy, fun.

annoyed that today's race was cancelled and we've gotten no rain/snow (it is cold though)

2hrs 4x20 @ 85% feeling good again after a few weeks of feeling blah, I don't know how much of a difference lowering training target by 2% makes, but if it helps, I'll take it.

It was a good week and a bad week. Felt strong after a big week but I just wasn't on form during group rides and that's the part I really need to work on. To be fair, dudes were hammering that training crit and even fresh (I was on 3 hours sleep, someone lost a finger at my wife's work) that was going to be a rough day.

considering doing a long, like 4hr, trainer ride at like 60-65%, supposed to be a rest day so trying not to get silly, plus I may be doing 56 and 65 mile races in the next couple of weeks. if the weather were nicer (if anyone watched the marathon today, you know what it's like where I am) I'd be out, as my wife and son are out of state this week. I'm also trying to decide between driving 2hrs for a training crit on Wednesday versus doing a club ride that afternoon, it might be one of my only chances to do a training crit, as the usual Sunday one that is more local (wells ave) appears to not have any signs of life yet for this season. decisions, decisions...

Great training day for Mt. Mitchell.

Over 70mi and 8200ft. All of it on local hills around Raleigh. Pretty much find everyone's least favorite local hills and go do repeats of them. Gets boring after the 3rd or 4th repeat, but it works.

I tried to make most of the climbing in my upper tempo and SS power level. Lots of lower rpm stuff, some out of saddle.

Being about 20lb lighter than last year's little roll up there will be super nice. I don't think I've gained any new ftp from the last test, but weight is headed in the right direction for the ride.

This training ride only needed a lunch sandwich and on-ride I took a Cliff bar, Lara bar, banana, and serving of raisins. Full on loaded up and pace-lining, I should be able to get close to 6 hrs even.

Anyone have any idea if they only re-fill bottles or if they pass off any? I'd rather not stop. If I took out stoplights I only had enough time really off yesterday to answer a few texts from the wife and cram my snack. Which I could do while rolling.

I do not plan on making any extended feed station stops. I'll likely carry what I need excluding heavy water. I can probably make it to Marion on what I have with me water wise.

2hrs with 9x3min vo2 (sets of 3), 6/9 of them were high quality, other 3 I couldn't fight the urge to pause momentarily. trying to get better at powering through these when my legs want to stop.

Hit a new 20' PB this morning, by 1 watt .

A reach goal of mine (for a while) has been 4 w higher than what I tested today, but I still beat my goal on the low end. I was really happy with my mental fortitude during the test and even puked a little bit on my bibs after, so I'm happy about that.

Not my morning for a workout.

Last night I flatted on the way home from work and had forgotten my spare, hiked it home.
Woke up at 7 am to ride but fell back asleep and started dreaming until 7:45
Got kitted up by 8:30 and found the flat tire that I never changed. Put in my last tube.
Went out to ride close to home and flatted less than 10 minutes in.
Found a slit in the side of my tire, patched my first tube ever, and pumped it low to make it home.
Found a tire that looked pretty good in a drawer and replaced the tire.
By this time my allotted training time was up. Played drums for an hour and got ready for work, and the tire was flat. Apparently either I don't know how to patch a tube or those roadside kits suck. Swapped the wheel and rode to work.

I hit a ton of segment PR's in the Tuesday Night Worlds. Almost made it up with the top group but I was in the back and had to go around too many people. I have to (and this goes for racing too) to surge up back into the pack instead of just passing guys falling off the pack. A lot of fast guys seemed pissed when I passed them, hopefully they can get used to it. I'm stronger than I ever have been in terms of FTP, but I still have a lot of work to do; specifically lose another 10 lbs.

And the tube was flat after work. Took the tire off and saw the tube was all bunched up near the valve stem. How does that even happen? Flat too long I guess. Slow leak though, like 10 minutes of riding worth. So rode to meet up with some friends for a social ride and bummed a tube. 2 hours, Z2 out, 10 minute climb @105% into a strong headwind, Z1 back. Another social ride tonight, so I should try to get a couple training rides in the next few days.

I'm starting to doubt if you even use tires!

Make sure the tire is wrapping all the way around the tube, not the other way around. =]

when will someone make an acceptable solid-core or airless tire?! just fill it with graphene.

went on a ride with real people today, as opposed to my solitary indoor training existence. did the B ride organized by my club (definitely not ready for the full on hammerfest of the A ride lol). my trainerroad plan had me doing 50tss today, the ride ended up being 128tss, and I did 140tss yesterday, hopefully I've got tomorrow's 139tss workout in me

First ride(s) in 2 weeks, was on vacation in London. Commute in and extended commute out, just shy of 50 miles. Power super low for the heart rate today, sigh. I'm sure it'll come back quick, just easily discouraged.
