I almost bought it but realized my Apple Watch already measures heart rate variability (and the "Health" app reports/graphs it). Whoop adds some better reporting around it (it seems like), but for a price... a subscription no less.

How warm are the rooms where you train? I used to use a box fan (20 year old) on a chair, and now I have a lasko tower fan that I use on medium setting pointed directly at me. But I had an AC in my old training room and now when it's minus whatever it is out I open the door to get the room temp down. Sometimes I'd go down as low as 58 but typically I'm aiming for 62 or less.

I've got mine in the garage. It's cold in the winter, and hot in the summer. Regardless of the time of year, I have two fans going - one on a shelf and one on the floor. In the winter, I often start with a jersey on, but it's not uncommon for that to come off. In the summer, I generally train very early in the morning because it can be too hot in the afternoon. I also often leave the car in the driveway and bring it in just before I go to sleep so the engine doesn't heat up the garage.

I find if it's really cold, it takes me a bit to warm up, but I still need the fans to blow the heat off me.

I have my set up in the basement, and I leave the little window open and this morning was about 56. In the coldest parts of winter, I can get it to 50, I think even upper 40s. Things are definitely better for me when the temp is under 60. I have 3 fans, 2 of which are the lasko pro performance (gold standard) and one is the lasko cyclone (bigger but crappier). I have them plugged into wifi sockets and I switch on the sockets with my phone once I'm riding (usually I start to need a fan once I get past 180w). I use all my fans on max setting and need every bit of it lol

Angle-adjustable large box fan on the floor angled up at my legs/crotch/tummy and a 12" Vornado blowing fresh outdoor air onto my head/neck/chest. If it's warm out (rare) the fan setup doesn't change but I close the window and blast the AC in the room to cool/dehumidify. I usually try to keep the room around 62. Any colder and my knees protest. We old now.

It's typically around 65ish. I usually ride facing an open window, with a box fan pointed at my back. It's fine unless I'm doing sweet spot or above, at which point airflow becomes a real limiter.

Maybe decades of indoor training has helped me, but I use way less fan power than you guys, and my indoor FTP is within a few of points of outdoor. I notice you all have fans on the floor. Might having them at face/chest level help?

I'm personally a sweaty individual so it doesn't take much before I need the fan to help with the evaporation and need all the power they provide. My fans are pointed at my chest mainly, the one on the left for sure, the one on the right gets a little more to my face but I try mainly to concentrate on my core for cooling

A bunch of guys from my old town are having a Tour de Quarantine via Strava. The prologue can be ridden now through Saturday, so I think I might ride the ~30 miles back to the old grounds as a warmup, do the loop, then boogie back home. I'm guessing it'll be a 7.5-minute effort based off of the current 8:08 KOM.

2.5 hours of ski touring today. 4000ft of gain. Really fun snow up high. I found about a foot of fresh snow in some spots. Kept the uphill effort pretty easy. I'm supposed to have a big day on skis with a friend tomorrow. Hoping for a good avy report in the morning so we can get after it.

Upgraded my 13 yr old entry level Sidi's that were falling apart for a pair of Shimano RC9's. I've never worn anything other than the cheapest shoes available, now I don't think I can ever go back...

Yes. I got it for Christmas. The only issue I have is that it's not terribly accurate with interpreting sleep. I have insomnia, so, I am up and down a lot most nights. Sometimes, it records me as being asleep when I'm not, and other times, it records one of my night wakings as the ned of my sleep for the night. (My sleep therapist wants me to get out of bed if I am not sleeping.) That can affect the recovery score it provides.

I also do a lot of weight lifting, which doesn't really raise my HR, so it doesn't really consider that in the recovery score.

But some of the insight is interesting. And I've noticed that a few times it has said I'm well recovered and I don't feel it, but I end up doing really well in my workout.

Others have complained that the recovery score can be a day late or early.

90 minutes of z2 (split into 2 workouts) and 30 minutes of yoga. My sprain / tear doesn't hurt and seems to be going away. More z2 this weekend; basically a recovery week.

Back to pre-crash power now, probably more.

Did little over 22mi at over 21mph with 60 ft per mile average elevation. Nothing stunning, but I felt really strong. Probably fast because I had headwinds for hillier part of ride and tail for flatter parts.

1x7 effort at 110% and a couple 6mim at 100%. Just cruising the route and making things happen.

My 7min effort had some time at 120% in it so perhaps could have held it for 20min if we had such hills here. Plus, this is the lowest reading meter or trainer device I own. Wooooot.

My HR too said there was more in the tank overall for the ride.

I love rides like that. Lay the hammer and feel good doing it and just flying solo.

125 miles, ~7000ft of climbing. Little less than 7hrs moving time. ~20 miles into a block 15mph headwind. Easily my biggest ride since September. Was surprised by my performance. Able to go pretty hard on the hills and didn't crack until 10min into the last one. Beautiful day to be outside. Started out chilly but got to be downright gorgeous and I was so happy to be outside.

ďRecoveryĒ week, not sure how much recovery I get doing as much or maybe more volume lol 10.5hrs of endurance this week, including 3hrs yesterday and 2 today

Iím going to do a trainerroad group ramp test on Tuesday, either finding one to join or hosting my own. Iím expecting to go all in with the 285w ftp, Iíve been bumping up the intensity of all my workouts to that level, so the ramp test isnít really going to change my course except in the off chance I test 290. Mainly just want to see if doing a group ramp test will motivate me to really empty the tank
