Rode down to the river ride, did the river ride, rode home. 90 miles and 250 TSS. A few younger pros (Axeon and BMC) were out today and added some fun.
12 hours and 775 TSS.
Might jump out briefly tomorrow AM, but that depends on a) how late people appear to be sleeping in and b) if it really is in the 20s as forecast.

I'm aiming for 5ish tomorrow, before celebrating the Xmas/Hannukah double header with a mountain of general tso chicken and a bunch of movies.
Currently at lots of hours and lots of tss. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Feeling guilty, did basically the minimum today to get my intervals done and went home. 1.5 hours. 3x 10 min sweet spot using the new ftp. It was gross out, cold and windy and lots of mud on the roads. The climb I wanted to do was closed. Combine that with low motivation. At least it's a sort of rest week. Had an optional day tomorrow, may go out for a couple hours of z2 if it's not too bad out.

3hrs of mostly endurance with a bunch of 'hill' repeats, and 8 form sprints. The idea is to sprint in an easy gear, spin it up, then sit down and keep spinning. I'm getting up to 145rpm, and all 8 were >1200w today (peak 1291w). Very happy ^_^

When I do my high cadence intervals, it's 2min on, 1min off for 30min. I used to start bouncing at 110rpm, but now I bounce around 120rpm if I have to sustain it. In a sprint, I'm not bouncing even at 145rpm.

...also, I had to work with my coach to change my weekly schedule to give me a recovery ride (rather than, e.g., an FTP day) after my high cadence day, since high cadence takes so much out of me. It's not at all natural (I've only been riding seriously for ~2yrs now).

@Ygduf & i braved the horrible winter conditions we have around here (50f & sunny) to do a few hours today.
Legs are sore from the gym yesterday, but I did 4.5 hours of z2-ish anyway. Only had a clif bar & a shot blox sleeve (plus morning toast/coffee), was/am super hungry!!

Chain broke just after a descent at a decent speed / wattage. Out cold for awhile, now at the hospital with a collapsed / punctured lung and some broken ribs. Stuck here at least 2 more days.

Good lord that sucks. Why can't the chain break at a convenient time, like with no load or something??

5 hrs for me on F, 2.5 hrs yesterday, capping off a 17 hr week, which is big for me. I'm stoked on it.
Yesterday I went out a day early for xmas. My mom's side of the family is big and close and located in the Imperial Valley - Calexico and El Centro. I came a night early so I could train in weather that was slightly less cold, wet and windy than what San Diego would be experiencing.
I had planned 3.5 hrs with a group ride, but it was cancelled and the conditions dictated otherwise. Still, I rode a 50 min high z3 effort to Brawley, spun around for 15 min to recover, and then hit it on the way back 10w higher. A little moseying around town after netted a little over 2:30 with some good efforts.
What followed was food, drink, music and merriment. My immediate family (including my gf) arrived a few hours later and good times were had by all.
Merry Christmas everyone!
