My first 40k TT

Well it was a 40K 2man TT at our local ardmore race zone.... and out and back course towards the coast.

I ended up partnered up with Gary Ulmer, father of the very famous Sarah Ulmer! We set cranking off along the flat at 40 - 46kmh (40k = 25mi). The course was lovely and flat - to start with. It steadily got more and more rolling, and really made it hurt - especially when i bashed my knees on the aerobars :@!

I had my Cervelo with Stock 28mm front rim and 62vette's rear OCR Ritchey rim, and aerobars - nothing flash today! Gary had a stock Look Carbon bike.

I rode alot on the front, while Gary caught his breath (hey, he's older than I first realised!) so pretty much alot of the work was mine

With the hills and a very slight wind I was happy with my result of 1:07:21, and I feel that if it was a flat course we would of gone under 1hour for sure, let alone if I had the Disc on!

I am very happy at how I handled myself throughout the race, and Gary mentioned that I had a nice smooth riding style with good technique. "I just need to increase the bore of the pistons", I replied.

I feel stoked, and just thought that I would share

Brendon

Congradualations on your first ttt, sounds like fun... well not as gruling as mine but...

I actually like 40k's more than 5k and 10k... just a little less suffering.

Congratulations! I love time trials, and wish I had the opportunity to do a TTT. Mist of my racer friends prefer hiding out in a peloton rather than facing "The Race Of Truth!"
