Botero has also won the Classique des Alpes, 2 mountain stages in the TDF, the Polka Dot jersey in the TDF, 2 mountain stages in the Vuelta, and a climbers stage in Paris-Nice. When he is on, as he is now, he can climb with the best.

How much time do you think Levi is going to put into him?

I wonder what's going on with Kloden.

I guess Popovych is no longer the designated leader for Discovery in the Dauphine. Recovering from the Giro [Correction: Volta a Catalunya], I guess. Hopefully he'll have it together enough to help Lance at the Tour!

And looks like Roberto needs more work on his time trialing.

Their times from today:

34 Andreas Kloden (Ger) T-Mobile Team 3.25

36 Yaroslav Popovych (Ukr) Discovery Channel Pro Cycling Team 3.29

38 Roberto Heras (Spa) Liberty Seguros-Würth Team 3.32

And where is Mayo?

I hope Popovych is not recovering from the Giro...since he was winning the Tour de Catalunya while Savoldelli was winning the Giro......

;-)

Sorry, I had to...

hey Helment Head... i hope you like the tase of crow.. think you might be eating a lot of it come tomorrow... Leipheimer is riding good for sure but I think you are selling Botero a little short... he's actually a climber/TT specialist when he's on (hasn't done sh*t in the last two years) he's on this year though, already showing he can climb and TT by winning the Tour of Romandie and beating Cunego there... his teamate Pereiro is flying this year too... Vino says he's specifically targeted his climbing this year... but maybe even someone like Contador might take the day... tomorrow we'll see what form a lot of these guys are holding for real but Leipheimer is by no way a shoe in for tomorrow... i have no clue who will win tomorrow but if I had to pick, I would actually pick Botero because he's the only one other than Vino that has shown he is on great form... is Vino ever not going good though, that guy is consistent.

Mayo, like about half the Tour favorites (Ullrich, Julich, Valverde, Simoni, Garzelli etc...) are riding the Tour de Suisse that starts on Saturday... usually people do the Dauphiné Libéré or the Tour de Suisse as a tune up for the TdF.

Levi just might turn out to be a legitimate contender at the TDF this year.

I pick Mercado(Quick-Step) to win the stage tomorrow up the Ventoux! He finished ahead of Armstrong on this stage last year in the Dauphine'...when it was a mountain time-trial....he also went on to win a stage in the TDF a few weeks later.

It hurts just to look at Lance. It's amazing he gets the times he gets.

"It is hard to say if Lance is disappointed or not – but for sure he didn’t look that happy with his riding, you could tell that by the way he fought with the bike all the way, although he looked much smoother into the wind with five-kilometres to go." -Graham Watson (at thepaceline.com)

Interesting pick. Pereiro is good, but I don't think he'll win tomorrow. My pick is Lance, but I'll be rooting for Santi Botero and Levi.

He's been to the Chris Boardman school of positioning and graduated with full honours.

https://www.cyclingnews.com/tech.php?...es/levi_tunnel

The bike is an Andy Walser carbon. He's made TT frames for Ulrich and Michael Rich in the past.

In all fairness, the small letters on the left says in Norwegian: "The picture is manipulated." You had no chance knowing that, sorry...

Comparing Lance and Levi. Not only is Levi sitting in a lower position than Lance. Look at how tightly Levi's helmet melds into the slope of this back, whereas Lance has a big gap between the bottom of the helmet and his back. Levi's helmet line appears much more aero.

Van Huffel... forgot about that guy... he's the one that paced the Salvodelli group all the way up the final climb of that monster mountain stage (2nd last stage) in the Giro... and then road away from them at the end...
