Lost GMSR Writings
Several years ago, I found a fairly long article written by Cameron Cogburn on his research and gear choice for the GMSR time trial. I believe his final conclusion was dual tri spokes was fastest. Does anyone know how I can find this article again?
Secondly, I have seen references to a couple articles called "How to win the Green Mountain Stage Race" and "How to win the Green Mountain Stage Race: an Addendum". Anyone have any idea where to find these either? The related links were broken where I found the references.
Yes, I am doing GMSR as you probably guessed. Hoping to at least do decently, Cogburn's analysis probably doesn't quite apply to me.

Heh, I may have written one of those a while ago. Granted I was not racing against Cameron at that point but I did win it as a Cat 3 and a Cat 2.
I think his old handle for blogs was 'cogburner' try searching for that.
Otherwise here is my advice from having done this race: Breakaways on the mountain stage are where it is at. Get away early and keep pushing. Also be super aware of the crit. It is easy to get dropped in that crit, when the race starts be as aggressive as possible and stay as close to the front as you can, it accordions quite aggressively.
I guess it stands to be asked: What category are you racing?

Cat 3. Crit advice is good, thanks. Being aggressive on the App Gap day sounds risky but possibly a big reward. I know you won in the 3's from a break, same in the 2's? But if there's an organized team, going in a break could end up really hurting when you get caught at the bottom of App Gap.

Cat 3 I won in a late break (Last 20 miles) Cat 2 I won from an early break (first 5 miles).
The reality is that by the time you get to the mountain stage everyone knows who to watch. The TT points out everyone who is strong and marks them, the circuit race typically produced very few gaps but I don't know what this new circuit is going to be like. And that meant that by the time you got to the mountain stage you were either marked or you were going to be given some breathing room.

Yeah, organized teams and the 3s are a rarity. I managed to pull off my move in the 3s because no one was organized.
